จนกระทั่งเมื่อเข้ากลางศตวรรษที่ 18 การเปลี่ยนแปลงทางสังคมได้นิยามอาหารเช้าแบบเต็มรูปแบบว่า Breakfast ซึ่งมาจาก คำว่า “Break to fast” ที่แปลง่ายๆว่า การหยุดอดอาหารที่ยาวนานในเวลากลางคืน ซึ่งได้รับอิทธิพลมาจากอังกฤษและยุโรปตอนเหนือ #breakfast
